Tracsis Rail Operations Consultancy is a leading provider of strategic and operational planning to the rail industry. We use our in-house and third-party software to undertake a range of assignments, including timetabling, performance modelling and resource planning. We are a growing business and are looking to recruit experienced consultants for our expanding team.

We are looking for self-starting individuals who are capable of managing a portfolio of projects in the fields of timetable development, rolling stock and train crew planning, performance modelling and plan writing, using industry standard specialist software. You will work closely with Network Rail, governmental bodies, current operators and clients that are tendering for new rail franchises, assisting them with their strategic plans.

You will need to have significant, demonstrable experience of managing projects in this domain, perhaps within a Train Operating Company or Network Rail in a production environment. You will need to be highly communicative, capable of managing people and teams and well-organised as well as analytical, technically minded, computer literate and able to write concise quality reports on the projects you lead.

Key Attributes:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in at least one of train planning, rolling stock diagramming, performance modelling and analysis in the UK railway industry
  • Demonstrable experience of managing people, teams and projects
  • First class communication and report writing skills
  • The ability to work at all levels of an organisation – the role will involve high-level communications internally and externally
  • Familiarity with commercial arrangements and responsiveness to client demands
  • Demonstrable initiative and the ability to acclimatise rapidly
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and deliver to a deadline
  • Enthusiasm, energy and a sense of humour

A competitive salary will be paid, dependent on experience, plus a benefit package including performance related bonus/share option scheme, pension and private health care (after a qualifying period).
