Tracsis is a technology company that solves business critical resource, planning, asset and safety/risk management problems across the transportation sector. We also develop innovative product solutions like smart ticketing and automated delay repay to improve the customer experience. We utilise advanced data capture and analytics methodologies to enhance our offering.

Tracsis develops software and hardware products and delivers consultancy, data capture, analytics/informatics and event transport management services.

Tracsis' products and services are widely used to:

We are a UK based plc listed on FTSE AIM. The business has ca. 500 employees in facilities across UK and Ireland.

The business was established in 2004 and has grown significantly through both investment in technology and acquisition.

Chris ColeNon-Executive Chairman
Christopher Cole is the Non-Executive Chairman and founder of WSP Group Plc (‘WSP’), a leading global engineering and environmental consultancy. Chris held the post of Chief Executive Officer at WSP between 1987 and 2012, and in that time grew the Company both organically and by acquisition to become a market leader employing over 10,000 people across 40 countries. Most recently, Chris led the merger of WSP with Genivar Inc and has become the Chairman of the enlarged entity, now named WSP Global Inc. WSP Global now trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker WSP with turnover in excess of CAD $2bn. Chris is a Chartered Engineer.
Lisa Charles-JonesNon-Executive Director
Lisa Charles-Jones joined the Board in 2016 and chairs the Remuneration Committee. Lisa is currently HR Director for Parkdean Resorts which is the UK’s largest operator of caravan, lodge, cabin, glamping and camping holiday resorts, employing some 8,000 people during peak season. Previously Lisa worked for LSL Property Services plc for 13 years, which is listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, firstly as Head of HR and for the last ten years as Group HR Director. Lisa is also a Trustee for the Percy Hedley Foundation. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds an MBA from the University of Durham
Liz RichardsNon-Executive Director
Liz Richards joined the Board in 2016 and chairs the Audit Committee. She is a highly experienced executive and non-executive director with a career spanning the Financial Services, Data and Software sectors. After an early career with Lloyds Bank, Liz qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY. Liz was formerly CFO for Callcredit (now Transunion), a successful consumer data business, where as a founder member, she oversaw its rapid growth from start-up in 2000 to a £150m revenue business by 2015. Liz currently also holds Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair positions at both LINK Scheme Ltd and dotdigital plc, as well as two pro bono roles - Governor and Chair of Audit for Leeds Trinity University and Trustee and Chair of Finance and Investment for Yorkshire Cancer Research. She brings experience of high growth acquisitive business, and financial, audit and governance expertise to the Board at Tracsis.
Chris BarnesChief Executive Officer
Chris joined Tracsis in February 2019 as CEO Designate and became Chief Executive Officer in May 2019. Prior to joining Tracsis, Chris was Managing Director of Ricardo UK Limited's automotive consulting division. Chris has previously fulfilled a number of senior roles within Ricardo plc including Managing Director of Ricardo Software, New Ventures Director and Global Product Group Director. Chris started his career at Ford Motor Company before joining global management consultancy A.T.Kearney. Chris holds a Master's degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from the University of Oxford and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.
Andy KellyChief Financial Officer
Andy joined Tracsis as Chief Financial Officer in February 2021. Prior to this he spent eight years at The Vitec Group plc in a number of senior roles including Group Financial Controller and Divisional Finance Director. Before joining Vitec he held positions in finance and strategy at Anglo American plc and Carphone Warehouse plc. He is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with Deloitte, and holds a first class degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
James RouthNon-Executive Director
James joined the Board in September 2021. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of AB Dynamics plc, having held the position since 2018. Prior to this he was Group Managing Director at FTSE 250 listed Diploma PLC for six years where he delivered a series of successful international acquisitions. His previous career involved leadership positions predominantly in the aerospace and defence industry, including senior roles at Chemring Group PLC and Cobham PLC. James holds a PhD in engineering and is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Alex JohnsonGroup Operations Director
Alex joined Tracsis in 2010 as Finance Director of Tracsis Traffic Data Limited and during his time at Tracsis has had several different roles including as Managing Director of the Traffic and Data Services Division. In August 2020, Alex moved into a Group Operations role where he is responsible for leading on IT, quality, safety and HR as well as supporting the wider management team by leading a number of groupwide strategic projects. Alex also leads our Rail Customer Experience business unit which incorporates smart ticketing, delay repay and passenger analytics. Alex is a Chartered Accountant and is a Fellow of the ICAEW.
David ThorntonManaging Director, Operations & Planning Systems
David Thornton joined Tracsis in 2015 and has held a number of senior Finance and Commercial roles across our software and consultancy businesses. David was appointed Managing Director of Tracsis Operations and Planning Systems in March 2021 having previously been Finance Director of that business. David has responsibility for the development and delivery of a wide portfolio of rail industry software products including TRACS Enterprise which is designed to deliver significant operational performance and costs benefits to train operators.
Andrew WhawellManaging Director, Condition Monitoring
Andy is Managing Director of the Condition Monitoring division of Tracsis. Andy served as Operations Director of MPEC Technology at the time of its acquisition by Tracsis in May 2011. Andy joined the rail industry in 1996, working for Balfour Beatty in maintenance and projects. He joined the signalling technologies division of Balfour Beatty in 2001.
Martyn CuthbertManaging Director, OnTrac
Martyn is Managing Director of OnTrac which specialises in the development of safety, risk management and asset visualisation software. Martyn was the founder and Managing Director of OnTrac which was acquired by Tracsis in 2015. He is heavily involved in the rail industries digital transformation journey.
Alan WilsonNon-Exec Chairman of Rail Technology and Services
Alan is non-exec Chairman within our Operations and Planning systems team and Director of our Operational Consultancy business within our Rail Technology division. Alan has had a long senior level career across the rail industry with former roles including Managing Director of Midland Mainline and Wessex Trains and Director of Rail and Metro at Serco.
Mike RodgersNon-Exec Chairman of Data, Analytics, Consultancy and Events
Mike is non-exec Chairman of our Traffic and Data Services Division. Mike was the founder and Managing Director of SEP Events Ltd which was acquired by Tracsis in 2015. Mike has significant experience across the transportation and traffic management industry.
Gearóid O’RiainManaging Director of Compass Informatics
Gearóid Ó Riain is Managing Director of Compass Informatics and was a co-founder of the company in 1997, joining Tracsis in January 2019. Gearóid continues to lead company strategy, to provide technology and spatial analytics insights into key projects, and business assurance to client organisations. He has a strong educational background combining technology, geography and economics, with business management and development. Gearóid’s ongoing focus within Tracsis is to broaden the reach of location technologies and analytics across the Group and to put in place the teams required to deliver on strategy.
Paul Zwicky-RossManaging Director of Traffic Data
Paul Zwicky-Ross joined Tracsis in 2018 and has operated in a number of senior commercial/business development roles. Paul looks to utilise the latest technology available to the Tracsis Group so his teams can safely deliver an innovative, high quality service whilst building strong, sustainable relationships with clients. Data-as-a-service is a key priority area for further development given recent client interest. Paul was appointed Managing Director of Traffic Data in March 2021 and his team work in partnership with companies like Vivacity Labs to exploit the latest AI / machine learning capabilities.
Alex BrunelManaging Director of SEP
Alex Brunel joined Tracsis in 2015 as part of the acquisition of SEP and was appointed as Managing Director of SEP in August 2020. Alex has worked in the events sector since 2002 and has successfully delivered a number of large scale events including music festivals and fixed venue operations. Alex has been instrumental in successfully tendering and retaining for some of the SEPs largest and most prestigious contracts. Alex has been driven to develop high performing teams believing that leadership and mentoring are key to the development of people within the service sector.
Dave MacdonaldManaging Director of CTM
Dave Macdonald is Managing Director of CTM which specialises in event and venue traffic and transport management. Dave has fulfilled the role of Head of Operations at CTM since 2011 and was appointed as Managing Director in August 2020. Joining CTM from University Dave has helped develop CTM into an industry leader and has worked extensively in consultancy, planning and operational delivery roles for some of the biggest events in the UK and has over 20 years’ experience in delivering CTM’s specialist services in the events and retail sectors.
