With Cheltenham Festival and its award of “The Greatest Racecourse in the World” now behind us, this weekend saw "a meeting of the seasons" as our teams completed their winter season with Tiger Roll winning the spectacular Grand National.
Over the three days of racing we distributed almost 62,000 race cards. Lying end to end that would be enough to cover the distance the horses run on the Grand National race itself!
We parked in excess of 7,000 cars, included 413 buses/coaches. Parked end to end that would go around the race track six times!
We also assisted in removing some racegoers from the course to ensure the race started on time – who said we just parked cars!
And we started our summer season at Members Meeting, the first of the big four to be held at Goodwood this year.
As our calendar starts to ramp up towards its busiest period and with prestigious events such as Badminton Horse Trials & Royal Windsor Horse Show next on the horizon, let’s hope that this Sunday’s lovely weather bodes well for the summer to come.
